In 2018, whoever winked missed some Instagram update. The social network did not stop for a minute and left everyone who works with Instagram Marketing pulling their hair to be able to follow everything.

The last blog post we made of updates was in September and since that month many new features have appeared on the social network. In order not to let anyone get lost in the middle of so many new things, we have put together all the Instagram updates that came from 2020 to January 2021 in this article.

Countdown sticker

We love when Instagram surprises and launches a function that no one expected, as was the case of the emoji slider is sticker questions . The most popular new feature on the platform is one of those surprises: the countdown sticker. Now you can insert a sticker into the story and choose a date to start the countdown. The new feature is great for product launches or event promotions, for example. In addition to attracting followers because it is different, once a countdown is created, other users can share it. I mean: it still helps you with outreach and visibility!

Voice messages

If you think that the goal of Instagram is to be just a network for sharing photos and videos, the platform will show you that you are wrong! Instagram not only wants to beat Facebook for content distribution, it also wants to pass WhatsApp, Telegram and Messenger when it comes to instant communication. Yes Users can now send voice messages within Instagram DMs. And a lot of people have been saying that IG's audio quality is higher than WhatsApp, huh? Since Instagram does not play in service, of course, you have also entered the options to remove audio or record it hands-free within the function. Still, the limit for recording is only 1 minute. That is, if you need to send that #text, you will still have to turn to other platforms.

Best friends

Since Stories appeared in 2016, Instagram users have been missing a feature that would allow them to upload videos and photos to specific people without the story spreading to the entire follower list. Instagram has even made private sending of stories available, where we can manually select the friends they will receive, but nothing compares to the new feature launched in late 2018: the best friends list. With it, you can choose the people closest to you to get the specific content you create, which can be that more relaxed selfie or even stories that you prefer to hide from your family. To understand more about the new feature, take a look at the article we made that tells you everything you need to know about the best friends list!

Quick responses in DM

One of the coolest Instagram updates for business profiles was the quick replies, quick messages that we can send via DM. The function is perfect for companies or profiles that receive a lot of daily DMs . Now you can enable quick messages for those frequently asked questions, like what time your establishment opens or what plans are available to subscribe to your service, for example. To use the quick reply, simply go to the message symbol within the conversation and choose the phrase you want to send.

Name tag

The Instagram name tag, or name tag as it is better known, is designed to make it easier for users to follow new people. The most interesting thing about the news is that despite functioning as a QR code, the name tag does not have one! In fact, Instagram reads the words and elements of the tag, such as a credit card number, and directs the user to the profile corresponding to that code. The new feature provides a new way to share your profile name, which can be easily shared on any social network, groups on WhatsApp, and even in print. You can even print the name tag on products, cards and pages, making people follow you faster, just by scanning the code through the Instagram stories camera. We made a blog post to teach you how to set yours, take a look!

New AR filters

2018 was the year that Instagram finally started paying more attention to augmented reality filters for Stories. While Facebook, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, had real cool filters on the platform, Instagram was happy with simpler eyeglass or animal ear filters. That has changed a lot in the past year and the trend is that it only gets better in 2019. Today we already have a good range of more creative and well-made filters, such as the VCR and excess kaleidoscope, as well as custom filters from celebrities and brands like Este This is the case with the famous makeup of Kylie Jenner. Some new filters can be used even if you follow the profiles they belong to. We talk about them and even teach you how to make your own augmented reality filter here in this article. Check out!

Quick reactions in stories

Like the reactions on Facebook, Instagram has launched a new way to interact and respond to the stories we follow. Now you can quickly reply to stories by reacting with a suggested emoji. Every time the user responds to a story, a set of emoji appears above the text box with the most popular options for the user to reveal what that story made them feel. A much easy way to increase your audience and story views.  Buy instagram Story Views it help to increase your views and followers.
